Arena54 in Claude and ChatGPT

Ask your assistant what is being made in Lagos, which jams are coming up, or who makes card games in Accra, and it answers from the Arena54 map.

Add it

In an assistant that takes remote MCP connectors, add a custom connector with the address https://arena54.com/mcp. It sends you to Arena54 to sign in with X or Google, and you allow it on an Arena54 screen. Nothing else to install.

In Claude

Open Settings, then Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector.
Name it Arena54 and paste https://arena54.com/mcp as the address, then Add.
Choose Connect, sign in to Arena54 and allow it.
In a chat, turn Arena54 on from the tools menu and ask away.

In ChatGPT

Open Settings, then Apps and connectors. Custom connectors may first need developer mode, under Advanced settings.
Choose Create, name it Arena54 and paste https://arena54.com/mcp as the address.
Pick OAuth for sign-in, create it, then sign in to Arena54 and allow it.
In a chat, add Arena54 from the tools menu and ask away.

What it reads

The public map: games, studios and people, events, the rankings and the countries and cities. The same as anyone sees on arena54.com and through the public API.

Never your email address, your wallet, tips, anything private, or anything only Arena54 staff see.

What it changes

Nothing. It cannot post, submit, edit or publish anything for you.

What it sends, and to whom

The answers to the questions your assistant asks, to the assistant you connected, and to no one else.

What Arena54 keeps

A count of how often each tool is used each day. Not your questions and not the answers: assistants do not send Arena54 the conversation.

What it can look up

Find games: Games made in Africa listed on Arena54, filtered by words, genre, platform, country, stage or maker. Returns titles, makers, countries and links.
Get a game: One game in full: description, links, credits, where to play.
Find makers: Studios and people making games in Africa: filter by words, kind, role, country or city.
Get a maker: One studio or person in full, with their games.
Find events: Game jams, meetups and tournaments listed on Arena54.
Rankings: Arena54's boards, from people's votes: the top games or makers this week, this month or of all time.
Countries and cities: Where games are being made: countries with how many makers and games, or one country with its cities.
Search: Games, makers and countries matching a word or two.

Limits

One connection may ask 60 questions a minute, and one account 2,000 a day. One account may connect 5 assistants. A connection lasts 30 days without being used before it asks you again.

Disconnect it

Under Connected games and assistants, any time. It is refused on its next question. Arena54 staff can switch off an assistant, or the whole connector.
